Extrait d’une session de travail, alors que j’élaborais mon site internet.

« Bon !  Si je me souviens bien, pour insérer une photo, je dois créer un projet, ensuite aller dans bibliothèque média, cliquer ajouter et sélectionner un fichier pour importer une photo.  Un projet par photo, il me semble. 

Ok, tout fait ça.  Maintenant, je retourne sur ma page d’accueil, aperçu…  Oui super !  Ma photo est là.  Ok maintenant si je clique dessus toutes les autres devraient apparaître…

AAAAGGGHHH !!!  C’est tout croche ! C’est quoi l’affaire ?!?! 

Ok, France… on se calme.  Restes zen.  Respire par le nez.  J’ai du me tromper quelque part.  Je recommence tranquillement… »

10 minutes plus tard

« Ok.  Tout est refait.  Là ça va fonctionner.  Ce sera tout beau, bien encadré comme dans le modèle.  VI-SU-A-LI-SE !!!  Et…

Merde !!!!!  Pourquoi ça ne marche pas ???? C’est quoi le % ?&** ?***  de problème !?!? »

Trois jours plus tard extrait d’une conversation Skype avec ma designer de site web

« Oui ok Luisa !  Je vais t’envoyer tous les textes sous forme de documents Word… Oui, oui !  Je mets tout.  Je vais taper ça ce soir et demain et je te l’envoie dès que c’est prêt.   Oui.  Tu me fais tout !  Moi, je suis plus capable !  Faut savoir quand renoncer. On ne peut pas avoir toutes les compétences n’est-ce-pas ?  Exactement.  Ok.  On se reparle après pour finaliser tout ça ! Bye ! »

« Alors, je m’y mets tout de suite.  Je vais aller ouvrir Word. 

Quoique…  dans le fond, tant qu’à taper le texte.  Je suis aussi bien de le taper directement dans le site, elle n’aura pas à le faire.  Oui, c’est mieux de même.  OK. »

Plusieurs heures plus tard

« Bon j’ai presque fini !  Yesss !  Ok. 

Seule hic, les colonnes de texte sont trop larges!    Note à moi-même d’en parler à Luisa.  Par contre, ce qui pourrait régler le problème ce serait d’insérer une image ici.  Me semble que la photo de ma toile « Dérive I » serait superbe juste là.  Ça doit pas être si compliqué… Comment on fait ?  Ah, tiens… le bouton aide !  Je vais aller voir ! »

CONCLUSION

C’est comme ça que de fil en aiguille, j’ai enfin réussi à monter mon site internet en grande partie par moi-même à l’exception de la finalisation et quelques montées de lait quand je faisais face aux limitations de WordPress…

Merci pour ta patience d’ange Luisa !!!  Je sais maintenant, entre autres choses, ce que c’est qu’un Widget!

Widget. c’est cute comme mot.  C’est comme un mix entre Winnie et Bridget…  Si un jour j’ai un chien ou un chat, je l’appelle Widget.  C’est sûr.

Donc si vous voyez quelques défauts, de petits bugs ici et là je vous en prie, soyez indulgents et S’IL VOUS PLAIT prévenez-moi!

Je suis encore en train d’essayer de comprendre que je fais.  Par exemple comment partager un article que j’ai écrit sur Facebook et qu’il ait aussi fière allure que n’importe quel autre article que je partage tous les jours en ligne!

C’est par ce que c’est MON article que ça sort sans photo et encore tout croche??Ah! frustration, quand tu nous tiens !

Mais bon !  Je suis déjà très heureuse de ce que j’ai accompli jusqu’à maintenant.

Et un jour viendra où, OUI, j’atteindrai la perfection en matière de site web ! 🙂

«Good!  If I remember correctly, to insert a photograph, I must create a project.  Ok.  Then I go in the media library, click on add and select a file to import a photograph.  I need one project per photograph, I think.    Ok, all done!  Now, let’s go to my first page…  Yessss, super!  My photograph is there.  Ok now if I click on it, all the others ones should appear…

AAAAGGGHHH !!!  What’s this ?!?! It all crooked !  What’s wrong with this thing ??!?! 

Ok, France… calm down.  Remain zen.  Breathe through your nose.  I must have screwed up somewhere.  Ok, let’s start over slowly.»

10 minutes later

« Ok.  All done.  Now it’s going to work.  It will all be nice, well framed like the template.   VI-SU-A-LI-ZE !!!  And…

Crap !!!!!  Why is this not working ???? What’s the ?&*(* ?$***  is the problem  !?!? »

Extract of a Skype  conversation three days later with my website designer

« Yes, ok Luisa!  I will send you all the texts in Word documents… Yes, yes!  Everything, don’t worry.  I will type all of it this evening and tomorrow and send it to you as soon as it’s ready.   Yes, I want you to do the whole thing for me!  I am through!  Enough is enough. One cannot know how to do EVERYTHING, right?  Exactly!  So, we’ll talk again afterwards to finalize everything? Allright! Bye! »

“Ok, better get started right now.  Let’s open Word.  Although… if I’m going to type all the text, might as well type it directly in the site, no?  That way she won’t have to do all the copy and paste.  Yes, it’s better that way.  OK. »

Much later

«Good, almost finished! Yesss!!!  »

Bummer is the text columns are too wide!  Note to myself to talk about this to Luisa.   Although… a simple picture would not only liven things up but also solve the problem.  It seems to me that my painting ‘’Dérive I’’ would look great here.  How can I do this?  Oh wait!  Here’s the help button!  Let’s check it out! »

CONCLUSION

And as they say… the rest is history!  Little by little, I finally managed to do my own site mostly by myself except for a few adjustments.  Add to this a few temper flare ups…  Thank you Luisa for your infinite patience!!!  Thanks to you I now know what’s a widget!

Widget.  It’s kind of a cute word, no?  It’s like a mix between Winnie et Bridget.  If I ever have a dog or a cat again, I’ll call him Widget.  For  sure!

So if you see little flaws, little bugs here and there… please go easy on me, and DO LET ME KNOW!!!

I am still trying to figure things out as I go.  For example how to share an article of mine in Facebook and have it look as great as any other article I share on line…

Is it because it’s MY article that it comes out, without a picture or all crooked again?  Ah! frustration, when you have us in your grip!

But hey!  I am very happy of what I’ve achieved so far.

And I swear… one day I WILL achieve website perfection!!!  🙂
